The Ashanti Regional Administration of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), for the second consecutive year, played a pivotal role in the successful celebration of Ashantifest 2026, which was held from March 7 to April 12 across the Ashanti Region.
Throughout the period, NAS emergency teams were strategically deployed across all major event venues to provide timely pre-hospital care and ensure the safety and well-being of participants. Beyond emergency response, NAS personnel also actively participated in activities such as the blood donation drive and Jama festival, reflecting the Service’s strong commitment to community engagement and public health promotion.
Initiated by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the festival continues to serve as a platform for promoting unity, cultural heritage, and socio-economic development within the region.
This year’s edition featured a rich and diverse lineup of activities, including the official launch, an U-17 soccer competition, a music, media and filmmakers’ summit, a corporate hangout, street art festival, Kente Week, a blood donation drive and health screening exercise, cultural day, food fair, and Jama festival. Other key highlights included a dramalogue, pilgrimage to Fomena, trade expo, music concert, and a grand thanksgiving service to climax the celebration.
The festival attracted several high-profile dignitaries, including Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade. Traditional leaders present included Daasebere Osei Bonsu III, the Mamponghene, and Nana Agyakoma Difie II, the Mamponghemaa, alongside various chiefs and MMDCEs.
Ashantifest 2026 stood out as a vibrant celebration of Ashanti pride, heritage, and unity. The Ashanti Regional National Ambulance Service is proud to have contributed to the success of this remarkable and impactful event.
