The Bono Regional Administration of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) joined the Ghana Police Service (GPS), Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and the Bank of Ghana in a joint workshop and simulation exercise aimed at strengthening emergency preparedness, inter-agency collaboration, and coordinated incident response.
The exercise, organised by the Bank of Ghana and held at the Municipal Chapel of the Ghana Police Service on July 15, 2026, brought together Regional Commanders of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the Bono Regional leadership of the National Ambulance Service, and the Regional Director of the Bank of Ghana.
As part of the programme, participants received presentations on the roles and responsibilities of the various emergency response agencies during emergencies. The sessions highlighted the complementary functions of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and National Ambulance Service in emergency preparedness and response, underscoring the importance of a unified and coordinated approach to effective incident management.
The workshop and simulation exercise were designed to enhance stakeholder preparedness, improve workplace safety, and strengthen collaboration among emergency response agencies in managing critical incidents.
The simulation was jointly led by DCAEMT Eric Mills of the Bono Regional Administration of the National Ambulance Service, ASP Ocantey of the Ghana Police Service, and ADO Adefra and ADO Addo of the Ghana National Fire Service.
During the exercise, the effectiveness of the coordinated emergency response was assessed, with firefighters undertaking rescue and evacuation operations, the National Ambulance Service providing on-scene medical assessment, treatment, and transportation of casualties, and the Ghana Police Service maintaining security, protecting property, and ensuring the safety of bystanders throughout the operation.
Management of the Bank of Ghana expressed appreciation to all participating agencies for their dedication and professionalism. The institution commended the stakeholders for the high level of coordination, commitment, and teamwork demonstrated during the exercise, highlighting the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration in strengthening emergency preparedness and response capabilities within the Bono Region.
